Type Locality and Naming
Along the Bazylbek village, Kyzylkum. M.N. Gramm, 1960 (178, p.63).
Synonym: Bazylbek Suite, Базильбекская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Continental brown and gray unevenly interbedded sandstones, siltstone (aleurolites), clays, with coarse clastic rocks in the foothills. Thickness 30-100m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Lies unconformably on the Agitmin Fm and Paleogene
Upper contact
It is overlain by Quaternary deposits
Regional extent
South of the Central Kyzylkum, framing the Nurata Mountains. In the foothills of the Nurata Range and Nurata Depression, it corresponds to the upper Pliocene-Eopleistocene brown molasse formation of the Upper Tien Shan series. In the south of the Agitmin Depression in Yuz-Bale, on the Avtobachinsky Plateau, and the eastern part of the Rometan Depression, it is differentiated into the Tashakyr Fm, Sadyvar Fm, and Kassantau Fm.

Contains ostracods - Cyprideis littoralis (Br.), Candona angulata Miill., Limnocythere dissortis Mand., L. kuschkanensis Gr., Eucypris aff. concinna Schn., E. samgarensis Gr., Cyprinotus vialovs Schn., Iliocypris bradi Sars., Darwinula stevensoni (Br. et Rob.).
